Sibley Nature Center – “Spirit of West Texas”
Cost: $125 member / $150 non-member
Dates: March 12 – 15th Monday-Thursday
Age: 3rd – 5th Grade

Description: The Spirit of West Texas is alive and well at Sibley Nature Center.  This camp focuses on a mix of nature, science, and history.  Kids will learn about survival skills from both past and present, how to cook when you don’t have a microwave (or modern grocery store!), make up their own games (who needs iPads for entertainment anyway), and learn how to work together to trade and compromise. Students will learn form the successes and failures of Texans in the 1800s.  Campers follow clues left behind by the Spirit of West Texas leading to a week of spinning wool, cooking over campfires, whittling toys, and learning how Texas History still helps us today.
